Security features of our encrypted phone
Encryption protects your data while the phone is locked. These features protect it when the phone is lost, stolen, snatched or taken: our PF Secured GrapheneOS Device can wipe itself, lock itself and refuse to hand data over through the cable.

Wipe protection: six ways to wipe
- Lock Timer (dead man's switch). Securely wipes the phone if it isn't unlocked for 14 days by default, a time you can change yourself. If you're separated from your phone, it protects itself.
- Network Loss Timer. Securely wipes the phone if it has no internet connection for a set amount of time, for example if it's kept offline in a shielded bag.
- Multiple duress PINs. Several alternative PINs that wipe the phone when entered instead of your real one.
- Power button quick wipe. Wipes the phone when the power button is pressed 7 to 8 times within 2 seconds.
- Remote code wipe. Securely wipes the phone when it receives a message you've chosen in advance.
- Passcode attempts. Securely wipes the phone after a set number of incorrect passcodes.
Always-on protection
- Anti-snatch lock. Locks the screen immediately if the phone is snatched or dropped.
- USB data blocked. The USB port's data signalling and file transfer (MTP) are permanently disabled, so data can't be extracted through the cable.
- Safe mode and developer mode disabled. So the wipe protections can't be bypassed.
- RAM clearing. Memory is cleared every four hours for extra protection.
- VPN kill switch. Keeps VPN protection constant, so traffic never leaves the phone unprotected.
- Automatic reboot. Returns the phone to Before First Unlock, its most protected state, after a set time locked.

What is a dead man's switch on a phone?
A setting that acts when you stop interacting with the phone. On our PF Secured phone, the Lock Timer wipes it if it isn't unlocked within a set time (14 days by default, which you can change), so a phone that's lost, stolen or taken protects its data by itself.
How long before the dead man's switch wipes the phone?
14 days without being unlocked, by default. You can change it yourself to suit how you use your phone.
What is a duress PIN?
A PIN that looks like an ordinary unlock, but wipes the phone instead. Our phone supports several.
Can a wiped phone be recovered?
The wipe is designed to leave nothing to recover, so keep your own backups of anything you need.
Does the Encrypted iPhone have these features?
