What makes it an encrypted iPhone
Every iPhone 17 encrypts its data with a dedicated AES-256 engine and unique keys for individual files, and that encryption can't be switched off. It also has memory integrity enforcement built in against advanced spyware. We build on that hardware with a hardened configuration that closes the gaps attackers and forensic tools rely on.
Security controls, enforced on the phone
- Passcode wipe. The phone erases itself after 4 incorrect passcode attempts.
- Restricted installs. Enterprise and web app installs are disabled.
- USB & pairing protection. Computer pairing, USB file access and AirDrop are disabled.
- Lock screen hardening. Control Center is disabled on the lock screen.
- Siri disabled. To reduce what can be done or heard without unlocking.
- JavaScript disabled. In the browser, as part of the hardened configuration.
- Screen capture protection. Screenshots and screen sharing are disabled.
- Before First Unlock shortcut. One tap returns the phone to its most protected state.
- Airplane Mode protection. Helps stop a thief switching the phone offline before you can lock or erase it.
- Fake cell tower protection. Lockdown Mode blocks 2G and 3G, which IMSI catchers rely on.
Need it stricter? The camera, and all app installs and updates, can also be disabled on request.
An MDM iPhone without an MDM server
MDM (Mobile Device Management) is how businesses enforce security settings on iPhones. It's powerful, but it normally means a company server manages the phone and can see it. Our iPhone uses MDM-level controls that are enforced on the device itself, without relying on an MDM server. You get business-grade protection, and the phone remains entirely yours.

Questions
Isn't every iPhone encrypted?
Yes. Every iPhone encrypts its storage with hardware keys. An encrypted iPhone from us goes further: it's security-hardened, with settings that close the common ways data is taken from a phone, such as USB extraction, pairing with a computer, screenshots and too many passcode guesses.
What does MDM mean?
Mobile Device Management: the controls companies use to lock down staff phones. Normally a company server manages the phone remotely. Ours uses the same MDM-level controls, enforced on the phone itself, with no MDM server.
Can anyone manage or see my iPhone remotely?
No. There's no MDM server behind it, so no company, including us, can see, track or change your phone remotely. It's fully yours, with no subscription.
Can I still use my apps, iMessage and FaceTime?
Yes. It's still an iPhone and runs the apps you use every day, including iMessage and FaceTime. Lockdown Mode does limit a few features, such as link previews and FaceTime calls from people you haven't contacted before, and with JavaScript off some websites won't work fully. Extra restrictions, such as disabling the camera or app installs, are available on request.
Is it more private than GrapheneOS?
GrapheneOS gives the most control over your data, with no Apple or Google account at its centre. An encrypted iPhone suits people who want every app to work and the phone they already know, made far more secure.
