Four wrong guesses and it erases itself.
On the fourth wrong passcode, the iPhone erases everything. This prevents adversaries from brute forcing.
You can also use this to your advantage to quickly wipe device in emergencies.

Is it still a normal iPhone inside?
Yes. Your apps work the same and you install them from the App Store as usual. What changes is what the phone can leak, and what someone could use to attack it: we reduce that to a minimum.
How is it different from a normal iPhone 17?
It's the same iPhone, with a hardened configuration on top: it erases itself after 4 wrong passcodes, blocks computer pairing, USB file access and AirDrop, disables Siri, screenshots and the lock-screen Control Center, and runs Lockdown Mode, which blocks the 2G connections fake cell towers rely on.
Can anyone manage or see my iPhone remotely?
No. The MDM-level controls are enforced on the phone itself, with no MDM server behind them, so no company, including us, can see, track or change it.
What does the Before First Unlock shortcut do?
It prompts for a quick reboot, which restarts the phone into Before First Unlock (BFU), its most protected state, where the data stays encrypted until the passcode is entered.
Can I choose what's switched on?
Yes. The camera, Bluetooth, Siri, screenshots, AirDrop, enterprise apps, autofill, iMessage, Apple Watch pairing and iCloud backups can each be allowed or blocked, and app installs and updates can be blocked entirely. Tell us after you order and we'll set it up before it ships.
